Clarity is critical to your health, especially when understanding the roles and qualifications of the medical professionals involved in caring for you and your loved ones. Title transparency is a term used to describe the true representation of a healthcare professional’s titles, qualifications, and roles, and it has direct implications for your personal healthcare experience.
Are you looking to grow your network? Are you unsure how to get involved? Professional societies are a great place to engage with other professionals, learn innovative strategies, and participate in advocacy that will have a direct impact on your profession. In Michigan alone, there are estimated to be 1,136 trade and professional associations and chambers of commerce. These groups are usually run at the state level but often have connections to coordinating societies in other states, building a national network that can be leveraged in various ways to put you in a position to gain the latest knowledge and best practices when it comes to your career.
The American College of Radiology (ACR) bestows one of its highest honors upon members in good standing through recognition as a Fellow of the American College of Radiology. ACR Fellows demonstrate a distinguished record of service to the College, organized radiology, teaching, and/or research. This prestigious honor is awarded to only 15 percent of current ACR members. The title of Fellow of ACR is conferred upon diagnostic radiologists, radiation oncologists, interventional radiologists, medical physicists, and nuclear medicine physicians during the convocation ceremony held at the ACR Annual Meeting.
